John Shufeldt, MD, JD, MBA, FACEP is an Urgent Care physician leader, serial student, an indefatigable change agent, multidisciplinary entrepreneur and author. John is the founder of Outliers Publishing, the CEO of MeMD, a virtual care portal connecting patients to medical providers, and the Principal of Shufeldt Consulting, which provides consulting services for urgent cares and medical office practices.
He has founded many other health and non-health care businesses and continues to practice emergency medicine and law. He founded NextCare Urgent Care, and served as the CEO and Chairman of the board until 2010, Under John’s leadership, NextCare grew from a single clinic to fifty-eight clinics in six states with annualized revenue of nearly 100 Million Dollars. He is the medical director and medic for the Phoenix SWAT team, an experienced pilot and writes and lectures on a variety of subject matters to graduate medical, business and law students at Arizona State University. Dr. Shufeldt is also a founding member of the Urgent Care Foundation and sits on the editorial board at the Journal of Urgent Care Medicine
