Resnick, MD, FAAFP and John Shufeldt, MD, JD, MBA, FACEP partnered to start Urgent Care Education, to create textbooks for the development of best practice standards in urgent care medicine. The Textbook of Urgent Care Medicine and The Textbook of Urgent Care Management are designed to inform providers and administrators about how to better run an urgent care center(s) from a clinical and administrative perspective. Lee A. Resnick, MD, FAAFP leads the national effort to bring academic rigor and clinical excellence to urgent care medicine. He was the founding national program director for the only clinical fellowships in urgent care medicine and serves as Editor-In-Chief of The Journal of Urgent Care Medicine, the discipline’s only peer-reviewed journal. He is also the founder and president of the Institute of Urgent Care Medicine, specializing in the development of continuing education programs (CME) designed specifically for urgent care medicine called the Core Content in Urgent Care Medicine and the Core Content in Urgent Care Nursing and Medical Assisting. Dr Resnick was also a founding board member and past president of the Urgent Care Association of America (UCAOA), where he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Resnick is also a founding board member of the Urgent Care Foundation.
